Pilot plants for exhaust air treatment
Surveys and measurement campaigns
The first step in planning any exhaust air purification system is to carry out a site survey:
- Which process does the exhaust air come from?
- What is the flow rate?
- What pollutants are present in the exhaust air?
- What is the concentration of the pollutants?
Depending on the type and concentration of the pollutants, we recommend the use of conventional activated carbon or zeolite filters, gas scrubbing, UV photo-oxidation, catalytic oxidation (KatOx) or — for certain pollutant profiles — non-thermal plasma (NTP). Regenerative thermal oxidation (RTO) is utilised where required through our partner network.
Using our pilot plants and in collaboration with accredited laboratories, we offer measurement campaigns to analyse exhaust air for organic compounds such as VOCs and inorganic pollutants.
The pilot tests can be carried out either using synthetically generated exhaust air in our laboratory or on-site at the client’s premises. The results provide important information for the design of the full-scale plant.
In a detailed report, we will explain the results to you via video conference or on-site and compare the advantages and disadvantages of suitable processes. This provides you with an objective basis for decision-making, including details of capital expenditure (Capex) and operating costs (Opex).
