Exhaust air treatment for wastewater treatment

The collection, transport and treatment of both domestic and industrial wastewater usually result in the emission of unpleasant odours. These odours are caused by a wide variety of organic compounds, some of which may contain nitrogen or sulphur. Under anaerobic conditions, the pungent-smelling inorganic hydrogen sulphide (H₂S) is also produced, which is toxic in higher concentrations.

evoran Umwelttechnik GmbH offers an innovative photo-oxidation process for the elimination of both organic and inorganic odour-causing substances. Our UV systems are thus helping to protect local residents from unpleasant odours as part of the landmark ‘Emscher Sewer’ (AKE) project.

Exposure to UVC light in the UV reactors oxidises and breaks down odours, including H₂S. In combination with the downstream polisher filters, the limits set out in the Technical Instructions on Air Quality (TA Luft) are not only met but significantly undercut, ensuring a pleasant atmosphere.
